She was born Jodie Stephanie D. Turner-Smith on 7 September 1986 in Peterborough, England to father Eron Smith and mother Hilda Smith. She has older brother Brandon Antonino Giovanni Smith and older sister Toni Gasson-Smith, who were both born in Jamaica.

She joined Gaithersburg High School, graduating from the same. After that, she attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated in 2008.

Professional Career

She began to work as a banker in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was introduced to musician Pharrell Williams with the help of her father after a N.E.R.D. concert, who convinced her to move to Los Angeles to become a model.

In 2009, she then moved to Los Angeles where she began to model for numerous brands.

She debuted her career as an actress in 2013’s episode of fantasy horror drama TV series True Blood as Siren #2. Her next role as in two episodes of Mad Dogs (2015-2016) as Angel.
