Naga Munchetty is a British journalist, newsreader, and presenter which is best known for her work on BBC One, the BBC News Channel, BBC World News, and the Andrew Marr Show.
She was born on February 25, 1975, in Streatham, London, England, the UK to an Indian mother and an English father. Her birth name is Subha Nagalakshmi Munchetty-Chendriahon.
Her mother’s name is Muthu Munchetty who is from Tamil Nadu, India, and her father is from Mauritius. She grew up along with a sister, Mimi.
Naga along with her family moved to Wales in the early ’70s where her mother practiced dentistry and her father trained to be a nurse.
She spent her childhood in England after migration from Pakistan. Moreover, she likes to play jazz trumpet and classical piano.
She did her schooling at Graveney School. Her mother thought she would be a lawyer or a doctor.
She attended Leeds University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature and language and post-graduate in newspaper journalism.
She began her career as a reporter at Reuters Financial Television. Moreover, she worked as a senior producer for CNBC Europe, Channel 4 News as a business producer and reporter and as a presenter on Bloomberg Television.
Later, she began working as a presenter on Bloomberg Television. She join Working Lunch after the show got revamp in October 2008 and stay with the program until it was cancel in July 2010. At the same time, she also host Radio 4’s Money Box.
She narrated the BBC documentary Fear and Faith in Paris looking at anti-Semitic attacks in Paris and their impact on the Jewish community of France.
In January 2013, she won Celebrity Mastermind Award and became the presenter of Sunday Morning Live on BBC One in June 2016.
Recently, she slammed her co-star Charlie Stayt on the BBC Breakfast on 26, October 2017. Along with Sean Fletcher, she worked as a presenter for Britain’s Classroom Heroes.
