Henry opened his tattoo shop, ‘9Mag’ in 2013 in honor of his sister, Nova, and his niece Ava who was murdered by Nova’s ex-boyfriend Fredrick Goings in 2009.

He started tattooing people in 2009 and was also well-known by a big name in the tattoo industry, Miya Bailey.

In 2011, she chose to be his mentor and exposed him to the history of black tattoo culture. Ryan met with some of the best names in the industry and has since excelled.

He is also well-known for his appearance on ‘Black Ink Crew: Chicago’. Nicki Minaj recently made an appearance on Black Ink Crew: Chicago and wanted Henry to make a tattoo on her wrist. Also, she gave him advice on 9Mag.

He has revealed that he left 9Mag and is planning to start a new tattoo shop. His reason for quitting was that it had become too hectic for him and there was no love and friendship left in the shop.

Ryan has had an on-and-off relationship with Rachel Leigh. She is also the founder of the luxury nail polish company, Pear Nova. In 2007, the couple gave birth to their son, Mason.

Back in September 2017, there were rumors of him dating Kat Jackson, who is also a tattoo artist. Leigh also then moved with another man, Jeremih, and got pregnant with a child (Grey). However, their relationship ended before the child was even born.

On the 19th of September 2017, Charmaine Johnise spread the rumors that she found Ryan and Kat together in the bathroom. He was slammed with several criticisms following that and to clear the matters he went live on his Instagram.

In the beginning, the artist admitted that he had cheated on his girlfriend previously and apologized for it too. However, he denied the rumors of being in a bathroom with Kat and stated that the two weren’t physically involved with each other.
