Robach began her career as a general assignment reporter for WCBD-TV, an NBC affiliate in Charleston, South Carolina, in 1995. She reported from Honduras on the aftermath of Hurricane Mitch, and from Iceland on the transit of ‘Keiko,’ the killer whale when he was flown back to his home waters on a Charleston Air Force cargo plane.
