Shamari Fears is an American singer, a reality TV star who is the lead singer of R&B group Blaque and starred in Bravo TV’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA).

She was born Shamari Jaqua Wright-Fears on February 22, 1980, in Detroit, Michigan, USA to African-American mother and father, whom she often features on her social media pages. She has a sibling, a sister named Martina Fears.

For education, Shamari Fears attended Southwest DeKalb High School and then joined Georgia State University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology degree from the same.

 Professional Career

Fears started her career while still in her teens. Later, she got discover by American rapper Lisa Lopes, who also mentor her. She form an R&B group name Blaque with Brandi Williams and Natina Reed. The group released its first album Blaque was released in 1999.

The album became so successful that it sold 1.5 million copies and was certified Platinum. This was followed by the release of albums Blaque Out on January 29, 2002. They went on a hiatus until 2007 and eventually split in 2008.

Unfortunately, Reed died in an accident in 2012, Shamari Fears has been performing with Williams. They released another studio album Torch on May 31, 2019.

Apart from her acting career, Fears made acting debut when she was cast in the 2000 comedy film Bring It On as Lava followed by an appearance in 2003 film Honey.

Moreover, she joined the cast of Bravo TV’s hit reality shows The Real Housewives of Atlanta in November 2018.

In addition,  it was announced on 24 May 2019 that Shamari Fears will be appearing on season 12 of RHOA in a recurring capacity. However, in September 2019 it was announced that she had quit RHOA.

Currently, the pair is currently living together without any sign of divorce.
