Lauren Alaina is an American country singer-songwriter and actress from Georgia. She came to the limelight from the American singing competition TV series, ‘American Idol’. She was the runner-up in the tenth season of the show.

Her second studio album, ‘Road Less Traveled’, was released on January 27, 2017. She got her first number one on the Country Airplay chart with the album’s title song. Her next number one came the same year when she simultaneously topped five Billboard charts with her friend, Kane Brown on their duet ‘What Ifs’.

Lauren Alaina was born as Lauren Alaina Kristine Suddeth in Rossville, Georgia on November 8, 1994, to parents J.J. Suddeth(father) and Kristy(mother). As of 2019, her current age is 25. Her father is a process technician.

At the early age of three, she started persuading her career as a singer. Lauren was such an inspired kid that she would go anywhere within a 30-mile radius of her house to perform.Lauren used to sing in church, restaurants, and also in public performances with the Kids Choir.

She has a cousin named Holly Witherow who was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She was her inspiration and is to this day.

Talking about her education history, she attended Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. She used to be a cheerleader back then. However, she focused more on her music career than school.

Alaina won the Southern Stars Pageant at the age of eight.

Lauren came to the limelight when she went to the audition for the tenth season of American Idol in Nashville, Tennessee. She became the judges’ favorite since the beginning. With her hard work and talent, Lauren reached the finale. Even though she did not win the competition, she became the runner-up of the show.

Alaina was already attracting a lot of people and record companies. During her days as a contestant of American Idol, she signed to Interscope Records, Mercury Nashville, and 19 Recordings. Later, she debuted with her first single ‘Like My Mother Does’. The song entered the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart at the number 49 and the Hot 100 chart at 20. Around 121k copies were sold in the first week.

After the end of her Americal Idol journey, she was also invited on several talk shows including ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’, ‘Live with Regis and Kelly’ and ‘The Today Show’.

Her first album titled ‘Wildflower’ reached 28 on the US Billboard 200 in 2011.

On November 21, she performed at the White House for President Barack and Michelle Obama. She then started to work for her second album from 2013. On May 7, 2013, she released the single ‘ Barefoot and Buckwild’, which charted at thirty-four on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

On July 11, 2016, she released the title song of her second album ‘Road Less Traveled’, which she had co-written with Meghan Trainor and Jesse Frasure. After ten months of the release, it reached number 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.

She released her second album on January 27, 2017. She released a new single titled ‘Doin’ Fine’ on May 22, 2017.

In August of 2019, she was announced as one of the celebrities who would be competing on the 28th season of Dancing with the Stars. She made it to the finals and eventually finished fourth.

Alaina is the only female artist to top both country charts in 2017.

On the 53rd Academy of Country Music Awards, she received the award for the ‘New Female Vocalist of the Year’. Similarly, she won CMT Music Awards ‘Breakthrough Video of the Year’ for ‘Road Less Traveled’ in 2017, ACM Awards ‘New Female Vocalist of the Year’ in 2018.

She also received nominations for many awards including ‘CMT Music Awards 2012’, ‘American Country Awards’, ‘ACM Awards’, ‘Teen Choice Awards 2012’, ‘Radio Disney Music Awards’, ‘Music Row Awards’, ‘CMT Music Awards 2017’, ‘Country Music Association Awards’.
