Sharon Tay is an American award-winning journalist, news anchor, and occasional actress. Currently, she works with the KCBS-TV network. Previously, she had hosted two programs on the network, MSNBC where Tamron Hall is a newscaster.
Sharon Tay was born on October 15, 1966, in an Asian country, Singapore, and immigrated to the United States at the age of 7 years. She is 54 years old as of the year 2020. Information about her parents and siblings are not available. Tay holds American citizenship but her ethnicity is unknown.
During her sophomore year, she attended the International School in the Philippines. But, for higher education, she returned to the United States and attended boarding school in Massachusetts. She graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism. Since then, she lives in LA. So, Sharon holds American nationality despite having Chinese ethnicity. She has a good command of English, Cantonese, and Spanish.

Sharon joined CBS2 & KCAL9 in 2007 as a general assignment reporter. Prior to after she began anchoring the weekend news on CBS2 and KCAL9. In April of 2010, Tay was called the primary Co-Anchor for KCAL9 News at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. on weeknights.
Her first work was for Boston Cable News where she served as a reporter, writer, director, and editor. However, Sharon became the anchor and producer of a weekend show. In 1993, she moved to the west coast to serve for a central California CBS affiliate as a General Assignment Reporter.
Later, she was enlisted by Tribune Broadcasting for KTLA-5, Los Angeles. She worked as a weekend anchor and ultimately, as an anchor for early morning shows. with Jennifer Gould. But, she bid her goodbye to KTLA in December 2004 and joined MSNBC. There, she hosted two essential shows “MSNBC Entertainment Hot List” and “MSNBC at the Movies.”
Sharon currently works for CBS2 / Kcal9 alongside Jeff Vaughn for the early morning and midday newscast. She joined KCAL 9 along with Garcia and Taft and helped to rank first among local broadcasts.
Sharon Tay did plastic surgery in 2014. Tay went through surgery for breast augmentation, nose job, botox injections, and performed filler’s injection. After cosmetic surgery, she looked even more beautiful and dashing.
