Professional Life and Career, Milwaukee Bucks

Giannis started playing basketball in 2007. By 2009 he was playing competitively for the youth squad of Filathlitikos. He played with the senior men’s team of Filathlitikos in the semi-pro Greek B Basket League during 2011-2012.

In December 2012, Antetokounmpo signed a four-year deal with Spanish club CAI Zaragoza, reportedly including NBA buyouts after each season. With the contract starting with the 2013–14 season, he decided to stay with the Filathlitikos for the remainder of the 2012–13 season.

However, Giannis did not get the opportunity to play for Zaragoza as he was picked up by Milwaukee Bucks as a preliminary draft just when he would have taken the field for the Spanish squad. Since his contract with Zaragoza incorporated a default escape condition, he qualified to play for Milwaukee Bucks. Antetokounmpo made his NBA debut on October 13, 2013, at the age of 18 years. Similarly, he was the integral playmaker for Milwaukee Bucks’ in his third year with the NBA team. In the following year, he was adjudged as Milwaukee Bucks’ star player.

On September 19, 2016, Antetokounmpo agreed to a four-year, $100 million contract extension with the Bucks.

Antetokounmpo debuted for Greece National team at the 2013 FIBA Europe U-20 Championship. He debuted for the Greek senior national team at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup
