Mel Giedroyc started her career by playing the role in the comedy series French and Saunders, in 1996. Later, she appeared in The Games and Blessed.

She came into the limelight after working with comedian and actress Sue Perkins. They both used to studied at the University of Cambridge and were part of the Footlights comedy club too. Giedroyc worked as the co-presenter of Perkins of Channel 4’s Light Lunch from 1997 to 1198. In 1998, they worked in the show Late Lunch. In 2006, they became the co-presenter of ITV’s Richard Hammond’s 5 O’Clock Show.
